Title Signature Instructions
How to properly sign the California title
The registered owner of the vehicle must follow these steps:
- Sign line 1a. on the front of the title where it reads "Signature of Registered Owner".
*If there are two owners on the title, both must sign.
- Sign below the odometer section in the front of the title where it reads "Transferor/Seller Signature(s)".
*For California vehicles that are 10 years or older, you would only have to sign on line 1a.
