Duplicate Title Instructions

Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled in Colorado
 
    The registered owner of the vehicle must follow these steps:
 
        1. Download and fill out the Colorado Duplicate Title Application.
 
        2. You can do one of the following options:

 

• Bring in the Colorado Duplicate Title Application to the Division of Motor Vehicles.

                        Time frame to get the title: Same day
                        Cost to obtain: $8.20 
 

 

 

• Mail in the Colorado Duplicate Title Application to the Division of Motor Vehicles.

                        Time frame to get the title: 2-3 Weeks
                        Cost to obtain: $8.20 

Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled outside of Colorado

    The registered owner of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled in.
