Duplicate Title Instructions
Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled in Texas
The registered owner of the vehicle must follow these steps:
1. Download and fill out the Texas Duplicate Title Application.
2. You can do one of the following options:

Time frame to get the title: Same Day
Cost to obtain: $5.45
- Mail the application to the Vehicle Titles and Registration Regional Offices.
Time frame to get the title: 2 Weeks
Cost to obtain: $2
Getting a duplicate title when the vehicle was last titled outside of Texas
The registered owner of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled in.
